CBS CONSUMER PRODUCTS AND MATTEL TO RELEASE NEW SERIES OF DETAILED STAR TREK DIECAST MODELS IN 2013
LAS VEGAS – June 12, 2012 – In anticipation of 2013’s upcoming Star Trek movie, Mattel will once again create a line of diecast models inspired by the iconic franchise under license from CBS Consumer Products. The 1:50 scale assortment of detailed miniatures will include the U.S.S. Enterprise, and will hit retail on May 1, 2013. This deal is similar to the agreement the companies reached for the 2009 theatrical reboot. The next Star Trek movie arrives in theaters on May 17, 2013.
“Excitement is quickly building for the Star Trek sequel, and these durable diecast models will form part of an extensive selection of fun, quality products inspired by the new movie,” said Liz Kalodner, EVP and General Manager of CBS Consumer Products.
