LYNN MARIE LATHAM NAMED EXECUTIVE PRODUCER OF CBS'S "THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS," THE NUMBER ONE DAYTIME DRAMA

Lynn Marie Latham has been named Executive Producer of CBS's THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS, daytime's Number One drama, it was announced by Bill Bell, Jr., President, Bell Dramatic Serial Company. Latham joined THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS as Head Writer in February 2006, after serving as Executive Consultant in 2005. She will remain Head Writer as she leads all activities of the writing team and she will continue to be responsible for overseeing all creative aspects of the show. "Lynn has done a terrific job balancing stories that are both compelling and emotional," said Bell. "She has embraced the history of the show and found new opportunities for storylines that have great passion." "Lynn is a consummate storyteller. From the page to the screen, her talent and heart grace every aspect of THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS," said Barbara Bloom, Senior Vice President, Daytime Programs, CBS. "Already, under her stewardship as head writer, she has created meaningful and engaging stories for Y&R's core characters. I am thrilled to see her expand her duties to executive producer and confident that, under her guidance, Y&R fans will be richly rewarded." Latham co-created and executive produced the series "Hotel Malibu" and "Second Chances," on the Network, along with "Wild Card" and "Homefront." In addition, Latham was executive producer for "That’s Life" and "The District," both on the Network, and creative consultant on "Live Through This," "Savannah" and "Pacific Palisades." She also spent two years as head writer for the daytime soap "Port Charles." Latham wrote "Knots Landing" for the Network for six seasons; she also produced that series for the last three of those seasons. THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS has been the Number One rated daytime drama for more than 17 years and is in its 34th season.
