CHRIS CASTALLO NAMED SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT, ALTERNATIVE PROGRAMMING, CBS ENTERTAINMENT

          Chris Castallo has been named Senior Vice President, Alternative Programming, CBS Entertainment, it was announced today by Ghen Maynard, Executive Vice President, Alternative Programming & Entertainment Content for New Media, CBS Paramount Network Television Entertainment Group.

            In this position, which reports to Maynard, Castallo is charged with developing new alternative programs, including reality, game shows and other non-scripted programming. He will also oversee CBS's current slate of reality series including SURVIVOR, THE AMAZING RACE, BIG BROTHER and the upcoming Mark Burnett adventure series PIRATES (working title). 

            Castallo joins CBS from NBC where he was Senior Vice President, Development, overseeing development and production of primetime drama series including "Heroes," "Studio 60," "Kidnapped" and others. 

            From 2003-2005, Castallo was Senior Vice President, Tollin/Robbins Productions, involved in the development and production of "Smallville," "One Tree Hill," "What I Like About You," as well as "I'm With Her," "Crumbs" and "The Days."

            Previously, Castallo was Vice President, Tollin/Robbins Productions (2001-2003) and Creative Executive, Tollins/Robbins Productions (1999-2001).

            Castallo is a graduate of the University of Buffalo.
