CBS and DIC Entertainment announce the new fall children's slate, set to premiere September 2007 on the CBS Television Network.  The three-hour, E/I-compliant programming block exclusive to broadcast television is comprised of six shows.  New animated programs include "Care BearsTM," "Sushi PackTM," "I Was a High School DinosaurTM" and "Strawberry ShortcakeTM," which will make its broadcast television debut.  The slate also includes returning shows "CAKETM" and "HorselandTM."

The following are the program descriptions for the new series:

CARE BEARS, celebrating 25 years of "caring" in 2007, will feature all-new episodes with a fresh and contemporary twist on the classic property. The Care Bears are funny, colorful bears each with a special way of caring and a belly badge to match. Cheer Bear, Funshine, Share Bear, Grumpy and Oopsy live in the beautiful cloud world of Care-a-lot.  They use caring hearts and their powerful belly badges to help each other and to thwart the evil plots of Grizzle, a bad bear with his own flying lair. Through it all, the Care Bears help kids understand caring and feelings!

STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE, making its Saturday morning broadcast television debut, follows the good-hearted and lovable adventures of Strawberry Shortcake and her friends who live together in the "berry sweet" world of Strawberryland. With darling and mischievous characters like her sister Apple Dumplin', her friends, Huckleberry Pie, Ginger Snap, Orange Blossom and Angel Cake, and her pets, Custard and Pupcake,  Strawberry Shortcake and her friends grow better all the time exploring whimsical new lands while learning valuable lessons.

SUSHI PACK follows five crime-fighting pieces of sushi that protect Bento Bay from over-the-top diabolical villains.  The humor-filled, action-packed television treatment for Sushi Pack was written by animation legends Tom Ruegger and Nicholas Hollander, the Emmy Award-winning writers/producers behind such hits as "Animaniacs," "Tiny Toon Adventures" and "Pinky and the Brain."  These bite-sized morsels of justice are ready to serve!

I WAS A HIGH SCHOOL DINOSAUR follows five quirky teens who suddenly gain the power to transform into dinosaurs.  Their Yoda-like science teacher, the mysterious Ms. Moynihan, guides them as they learn to work together and use their unique abilities to protect the Earth from an anthropomorphic Velociraptor who is creating "mutant-saurs" and accelerating global warming in his quest to bring back the Age of the Dinosaurs.

The following are the program descriptions for the returning series:

HORSELAND, featuring CGI and traditional animation, is set in the greatest stable ever where kids and their horses compete and have adventures, and the horses and other animals can talk to each other -- about the humans! Each episode features themes that deal with issues such as compassion, honesty and cooperation -- both human and equine.

CAKE is a live-action show-within-a-show about a teenaged girl named Cake. Cake, who is based on a concept created by Barbara Miller and Maia Terzian, hosts a cable access show, Cake TV, with the help of her three best friends, Miracle, Amy and Benjamin. The show is produced out of Cake's grandmother's old Airstream trailer and co-hosted by the three girls who show their audience (and each other) how to take ordinary, everyday items (t-shirts, cd cases, lamp shades) and make them extraordinary with a little imagination (and a glue gun!). Benjamin serves as the show's producer, cameraman, soundman and gofer. Cake's motto: "You can't buy individuality, but you can make it!"

Premiere dates will be announced in the near future.  Check local listings for scheduled times.
