CBS'S "LATE SHOW with DAVID LETTERMAN" MARCHES TO THE BEAT OF A DIFFERENT DRUMMER WHEN THE SHOW PRESENTS "DRUM SOLO WEEK," THE WEEK OF JUNE 6

            The rhythm section gets its due when the LATE SHOW with DAVID LETTERMAN presents "Drum Solo Week," featuring some of the finest drummers in music, Monday, June 6-Thursday, June 9 (11:35 PM-12:37 AM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

 

            The week kicks off Monday, June 6 with a drum solo performance by the LATE SHOW's very own Anton Fig, longtime drummer for Paul Shaffer and the CBS Orchestra.  On Tuesday, June 7, renowned drummer and percussionist Sheila E. performs on the broadcast.  On Wednesday, June 8, legendary drummer Roy Haynes, who has performed with such jazz greats as Charlie Parker, Miles Davis, John Coltrane and Sarah Vaughn, will take the Ed Sullivan Theater stage.  Thursday, June 9 marks the finale to the week, with a drum solo performance by Neil Peart, drummer for the legendary rock band Rush, who is regarded as one of the greatest drum soloists in rock music.

 

            Other guests visiting the LATE SHOW next week include journalist Meredith Vieira, Indianapolis 500 winner Dan Wheldon and a display of the new 2012 IndyCar concept car (Monday, June 6); Kyle Chandler, star of the highly anticipated film, "Super 8," and comedian Kathy Griffin (Tuesday, June 7); Jon Cryer, star of the hit CBS comedy, "Two and a Half Men" (Wednesday, June 8); and Neil Patrick Harris, star of CBS's "How I Met Your Mother" and host of "The 65th Annual TONY® Awards," and comedian Mike Birbiglia (Thursday, June 9).

 

            The LATE SHOW with DAVID LETTERMAN is a production of Worldwide Pants Incorporated.  Barbara Gaines, Matt Roberts, Jude Brennan, Maria Pope, Eric Stangel, Justin Stangel and Rob Burnett are the executive producers.
