WCBS-TV NEW YORK WEATHERCASTER JOHN ELLIOTT TO SIT IN AS GUEST CO-HOST ON “THE TALK,” MONDAY, JUNE 25

John Elliott To Join “The Talk” Co-Hosts Sara Gilbert, Sharon Osbourne

Los Angeles – WCBS-TV New York weathercaster John Elliott will guest co-host on THE TALK,  Monday, June 25 (2:00-3:00 PM, ET; 1:00-2:00 PM, PT/CT), joining co-hosts Sara Gilbert, Sharon Osbourne, Sheryl Underwood and Aisha Tyler at the table. Throughout the week, news anchors and weathercasters from five CBS-owned stations around the country will be in Los Angeles to serve as guest co-hosts, filling in for Julie Chen who returns Monday, July 9.  

During the week of June 25, THE TALK will feature the following guest co-hosts:

Monday, June 25: John Elliott, Weathercaster, WCBS-TV, New York 

Tuesday, June 26: Susan Koeppen, News Anchor, KDKA-TV, Pittsburgh

John Elliott joined CBS 2 in January 2007 as a meteorologist on “CBS 2 News This Morning” and “CBS 2 News At Noon.”  He also appears in “John, Do My Job!” stories where he experiences the joys and challenges of learning new professions.

Prior to joining CBS 2, Elliott worked two years at KCBS-TV in Los Angeles as the station’s morning and 11:00 AM meteorologist. Before that, he spent two years with NBC News and MSNBC, appearing weekday mornings on NBC as a weathercaster on “Early Today.” Also, he handled a wide variety of assignments as an anchor and correspondent on MSNBC. Elliott served as a 2004 MSNBC presidential campaign correspondent in the battleground state of Iowa. He also reported from numerous bases and posts throughout the nation as troops were deployed for the war in Iraq, and spent time onboard the USS Abraham Lincoln.

Prior to joining NBC, Elliott worked for XETV-TV in San Diego where he served as an anchor on the Fox station’s morning newscasts. He was also a morning news anchor for KGET-TV, the NBC affiliate in Bakersfield, Calif.

Elliott began working as a weathercaster at WRBL-TV, the CBS affiliate in Columbus, Ga., then at KGET-TV before making the transition to his role as a news anchor in Bakersfield.

Elliott is a recipient of the California Associated Press Award for Best Weathercaster, and has received numerous honors for his news features and general assignment reporting.

Elliott received his B.A. in radio, television and film from Wayne State University in Detroit and his master’s in communications from Central Missouri State University. He also studied meteorology at Mississippi State University. Before he embarked on his career in broadcasting Elliott was an advertising copywriter and producer and also taught media courses at Mott Community College in Flint, Mich. and Central Missouri State.

CBS’s Daytime Emmy Award-nominated talk show THE TALK features a panel of well-known news and entertainment personalities discussing current events, pop culture, contemporary issues, family, celebrity and the trending topics of the day. The daily one-hour series is co-hosted by Julie Chen, Sara Gilbert, Sharon Osbourne, Sheryl Underwood and Aisha Tyler. The hosts swap stories, challenge each other on issues and engage the studio audience and viewers at home about events in the headlines and their own homes. Show segments include guest interviews with entertainers and newsmakers, musical performances, appearances from extraordinary people with stories that engage and inform as well as how-to demos, real-world advice and tips from the leading experts in fitness, diet, health, home, relationships, finance and fashion.  John Redmann serves as executive producer along with Sara Gilbert, who developed the show.
