CBS SWEEPS FOURTH CONSECUTIVE WEEK IN VIEWERS, ADULTS 18-49 AND ADULTS 25-54

CBS is First in Adults 18-49 Since the End of the Olympics

For the Week, Network Scores 15 of the Week's Top 20 Programs in Viewers
And 10 of the Top 20 in Adults 18-49

Beats Its Nearest Competitor by +3.75 Million Viewers and By +40% in Adults 18-49

        CBS extended its post-Olympics spring winning streak as the Network swept its fourth consecutive week in viewers and key demographics, placing first on five nights in all key ratings categories and beating its closest competitor by wide margins in both viewers and key demos, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for the week ending April 13, Week 29 of the 2013-2014 television year.

        CBS has now been first for the last six weeks in viewers and first in adults 18-49 and adults 25-54 in five of the last six weeks.  Since the end of NBC's coverage of the Olympics on Feb. 24, CBS ranks first in adults 18-49 (2.3. tie).

CBS won the week in viewers (9.95m) by +3.75 million viewers, topping ABC (6.20m), NBC (5.40m) and FOX (4.94m). Among adults 18-49, CBS (2.1/07) beat both ABC and FOX (1.5/05, each) by +40% and fourth-place NBC (1.4/04) by +50%. 

        The Network placed first during the week on five of seven nights in viewers and key demographics. In addition, CBS had 15 of the week's top 20 broadcasts in viewers – including four of the week’s top 10 programs – as well as 10 of the top 20 broadcasts in adults 18-49 – including seven of the week’s top 10 programs.

NCAA BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIP

  •  NCAA BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME “Kentucky vs. UConn” (S) (9:14-11:24 PM) posted scored 21.20m viewers, 7.7/19 in adults 25-54, 7.2/20 in adults 18-49, 6.8/21 in adults 18-34, 9.7/25 in men 25-54, 9.4/27 in men 18-49 and 9.1/29 in men 18-34.  Nielsen Media Research reports that 39.9m viewers watched all or part of Monday's game.

 

SURVIVOR

  •  SURVIVOR was first in viewers (9.62m), adults 25-54 (3.1/09) and adults 18-49 (2.4/08).  Compared to last week, SURVIVOR was up +4% in adults 18-49 (from 2.3/07), even in adults 25-54 and added +140,000 viewers (from 9.48m, +2%). 

 

CRIMINAL MINDS

  •  CRIMINAL MINDS was first in viewers (9.85m), adults 25-54 (3.1/08) and adults 18-49 (2.3/07), topping “American Idol” in key demos for the second straight week. 

 

THE BIG BANG THEORY

  •  THE BIG BANG THEORY (8:00-8:31 PM) was first in viewers (16.29m), adults 25-54 (6.3/20) and adults 18-49 (4.7/17). 

 

UNFORGETTABLE

  •  UNFORGETTABLE was first in viewers (7.59m) and tied for second in both adults 25-54 (1.4/05, with FOX, -0.1 behind NBC) and adults 18-49 (1.0/04, with ABC). UNFORGETTABLE was up +17% in adults 25-54 (from 1.2/04), +11% in adults 18-49 (from 0.9/03) and added +270,000 viewers (from 7.32m, +4%) from last week's spring premiere.
