CBS SWEEPS THE PENULTIMATE WEEK OF THE TELEVISION YEAR

CBS Places First in Viewers, Adults 18-49 and Adults 25-54 With Five of the Top 10 Programs in Viewer and Seven of the Top 10 in Adults 18-49

The Premiere of CBS and NFL Networks Premiere of "Thursday Night Football" Scores CBS's Largest Primetime Thursday Audience Since 2007 and Best Demos on the Night Since 2006

All Three Editions of "Big Brother" Finish in the Top 10 Among Adults 18-49

           CBS swept the next to final week of the television year in viewers, adults 18-49 and adults 25-54, with five of the top 10 programs in viewers and seven of the top 10 in adults 18-49, led by the premiere of CBS and NFL Network's THURSDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for the week ending Sept.14.

           CBS and the NFL Network’s debut of THURSDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL ranked second for the week in both viewers and adults 18-49.  Both the PRE-KICK and KICK-OFF also ranked among the top 10 in both viewers and adults 18-49.

           All three editions of BIG BROTHER ranked among the week's top 10 in adults 18-49.

The premiere of CBS and NFL Network's THURSDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL delivered the Network's largest primetime Thursday audience since Nov. 8, 2007 (SURVIVOR, CSI/WITHOUT A TRACE crossover episodes).  Among key demographics, CBS had its highest Thursday primetime ratings in adults 18-49 since March 9, 2006 (SURVIVOR, CSI: CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION, WITHOUT A TRACE) and its highest ratings in adults 25-54 since May 18, 2006 (CSI (R) (S), CSI, WITHOUT A TRACE).

CBS AND NFL NETWORK THURSDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL

 

  •  THURSDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL "Pittsburgh Steelers at Baltimore Ravens" (P) (8:28-11:09 PM) delivered a 12.7/22 with 20.77m viewers, 8.3/23 in adults 25-54, 7.5/24 in adults 18-49, 10.9/31 in men 25-54 and 10.0/33 in men 18-49. 

 

BIG BROTHER

 

  •  BIG BROTHER TUESDAY SPECIAL(S) was first in viewers (6.76m), adults 25-54 (2.7/08), adults 18-49 (2.3/08) and adults 18-34 (1.6/07).  BIG BROTHERbeat the Tuesday time period premiere of "Utopia" by +156% in adults 18-49 (vs. 0.9/03), +145% in adults 25-54 (vs. 1.1/03), +129% in adults 18-34 (vs. 0.7/03) and by +4.28m viewers (vs. 2.48m, +58%). 

 

  •  BIG BROTHER WEDNESDAY was first in viewers (6.99m), adults 25-54 (2.8/08), adults 18-49 (2.4/08) and adults 18-34 (1.7/07), up +4% in both adults 25-54 (from 2.7/08) and adults 18-49 (from 2.3/09), up +21% in adults 18-34 (from 1.4/06) and adding +440,000 viewers (from 6.55m, +7%) from the prior week. BIG BROTHER posted its best Wednesday delivery in viewers and matched its best adults 18-34 delivery for any night.

 

  •  BIG BROTHER SUNDAY (8:52-9:51 PM) was second in viewers (7.41m), adults 25-54 (3.0/07), adults 18-49 (2.5/07), and adults 18-34 (1.7/06).  BIG BROTHERposted the summer's best delivery on any night in viewers and adults 25-54, matched season best adults 18-49 and adults 18-34 ratings. 

 

UNDER THE DOME

 

  •  UNDER THE DOMEwas first in viewers (6.63m) and was second in adults 25-54 (1.9/05) and adults 18-49 (1.4/04).  Compared to last week, UNDER THE DOME was up +6% in adults 25-54 (from 1.8/05), +17% in adults 18-49 (from 1.2/04) and added +340,000 viewers (from 6.29m, +5%).  It was the week's top broadcast drama in adults 18-49 and adults 25-54.

 

UNFORGETTABLE

 

  •  The first half of the two-hour season finale of UNFORGETTABLE (6.45m viewers, 9:51-10:51 PM) was up +7% in adults 25-54 (1.6/04 from 1.5/04) and even in adults 18-49 (1.1/03) compared to last week.  UNFORGETTABLE SPECIAL (S) (10:51-11:51 PM) delivered a 3.9/08 with 5.78m viewers, 1.4/05 in adults 25-54 and 1.0/04 in adults 18-49.
