CBS EXTENDS WEEKLY VIEWER WINNING STREAK TO 11 AND PLACES FIRST IN ADULTS 25-54

Network Has Top Three and 13 of the Top 20 Broadcasts of the Week

"The Big Bang Theory" Tops the Week in Viewers and Adults 18-49

CBS Expands Its Season-to-Date Lead in Viewers and Adults 25-54;
Moves to Within 120,000 in Adults 18-49 for Demo Leadership

            CBS extended its viewer winning streak for the 11th straight week and also finished first in adults 25-54 (tie) with the week's top three programs in viewers, as the Network moves closer to its seventh consecutive win – its 12th out of the last 13 seasons – in viewers, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for the week ending May 10.

Season-to-date through 33 weeks, CBS remains first in viewers with a +2.61 million advantage over second-place NBC (11.30m vs. 8.69m), first in adults 25-54 (3.2) and is a strong second in adults 18-49,  just 120,000 viewers behind NBC in the demographic. For the season, CBS is up +5% in viewers and even in adults 25-54.

            CBS had the top three programs of the week among viewers as well as 13 of the top 20, including the season finales of THE BIG BANG THEORY, PERSON OF INTEREST, CRIMINAL MINDS, HAWAII FIVE-0 and THE GOOD WIFE.

            CBS had now had at least five of the top 10 weekly broadcasts every week since Week #13 (12/15/14-12/21/14).

The season finales of THE BIG BANG THEORY, CRIMINAL MINDS and THE GOOD WIFE (with largest audience and best adults 18-49 since January) all ranked in the top 10 and beat every scripted program on the competition, while the HAWAII FIVE-0 season finale ranked 15th and beat every drama on the competition.

THE BIG BANG THEORY

  •  THE BIG BANG THEORY was first in viewers (14.64m), adults 25-54 (5.1/17) and adults 18-49 (3.7/15).  THE BIG BANG THEORY was the week's top program in these measures.

 

THE GOOD WIFE

  •  THE GOOD WIFE was first in viewers (9.35m), second in adults 25-54 (1.8/05) and tied for second in adults 18-49 (1.2/04), posting its largest audience and best adults 18-49 ratings since Jan. 11 and its best adults 25-54 rating since March 1, 2015. Compared to last year's season finale (on May 18),THE GOOD WIFE was even in both adults 25-54 and adults 18-49 and added +190,000 viewers (from 9.16m, +2%). 

 

PERSON OF INTEREST

  •  PERSON OF INTEREST was first in viewers (8.18m), second in adults 25-54 (1.9/05) and tied with ABC for second in adults 18-49 (1.1/04). 

 

CRIMINAL MINDS

  •  CRIMINAL MINDS’ season finale was first in viewers (9.61m) and second in both adults 25-54 (2.7/07) and adults 18-49 (1.8/06). 

 

HAWAII FIVE-0

  •  HAWAII FIVE-0 (10:00-11:00 PM) was first in viewers (8.27m), tied for second in adults 25-54 (1.6/05, with ABC).
