Prior to Blue Bloods, Amy Carlson was well known for her roles as Alex Taylor in "Third Watch" and A.D.A. Kelly Gaffney in "Law & Order: Trial By Jury." Her additional television credits include starring roles in "Falcone," "Peacemakers" and "Drift," as well as a recurring role in "Get Real." She was nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award in the "Best Supporting Actress" category for "Another World" in 1998. Her television movie credits include "Thanks for a Grateful Nation," "Too Big to Fail" and "If These Walls Could Talk Part II."
Her feature film credits include "The Green Lantern," "Anamorph," "The Kidnapping," "Everything Put Together" and "The Babe." Carlson also has two upcoming films, the independent comedy "Hits” and the independent feature "Natural Selection."
In addition to acting, Amy actively serves on the board of Hearts of Gold, a charity that provides support to homeless mothers and children. Recently, she had an essay on women’s rights published in the book Gettsyburg Replies.
Currently, Carlson resides in New York City with her husband, Syd Butler (bassist in the 8G Band on "Late Night with Seth Meyers," and the indie legend band Les Savy Fav), and her two young children, Lyla and Nigel.
