WCBS-TV NEW YORK NEWS ANCHOR KRISTINE JOHNSON TO GUEST CO-HOST ON “THE TALK,” MONDAY, OCT. 15

 

Kristine Johnson To Join “The Talk” Co-Hosts Julie Chen, Sara Gilbert, Sharon Osbourne

Los Angeles – WCBS-TV New York news anchor Kristine Johnson will guest co-host on THE TALK,  Monday, Oct. 15 (2:00-3:00 PM, ET), joining co-hosts Julie Chen, Sara Gilbert, Sharon Osbourne, Sheryl Underwood and Aisha Tyler at the table.  This will be Johnson’s second appearance as guest co-host on THE TALK, having first appeared on June 30, 2011.   Throughout the week, news anchors from five CBS Owned Stations around the country will be in Los Angeles to serve as guest co-hosts.

During the week of Oct. 15, THE TALK will feature the following guest co-hosts:

            Monday, Oct. 15: Kristine Johnson, News Anchor, WCBS-TV, New York 

            Tuesday, Oct. 16: AmeliaSantaniello and Frank Vascellaro, News Anchors, WCCO-TV, Minneapolis 

            Wednesday,Oct. 17: Susan Barnett,NewsAnchor, KYW-TV, Philadelphia

            Thursday, Oct. 18: Lisa Hughes, News Anchor, WBZ-TV, Boston

            Friday, Oct. 19: Pat Harvey, News Anchor, KCBS-TV, Los Angeles


Kristine Johnson joined WCBS-TV in 2006 and anchors CBS 2 News at 5:00 PM and 11:00 PM weekdays along with Maurice DuBois.

Johnson has won several Emmy Awards for her role in covering breaking news events in the tri-state area. During her time at CBS 2 she has covered political elections, Pope Benedict’s visit to New York City and several other major breaking news events. She has also broadcast live during major snowstorms and in flood zones around the tri-state area.

Before joining WCBS-TV, Johnson worked at NBC News where she served as anchor for NBC News’ “Early Today,” alternating anchor for “Weekend Today” and daytime anchor for MSNBC. While at NBC, Johnson interviewed major newsmakers and covered breaking news events such as the killing of Abu Musab Al Zarqawi and the terrorist bombings in London.

Previously, Johnson served as weeknight news anchor and field reporter for WPRI/WNAC-TV in Providence, R.I., where she was responsible for field anchoring from live breaking news events in the Providence market. Johnson is the recipient of two Emmy Award nominations for her part in producing the series “Brendan’s Story” and “Newsmakers.”

Johnson is a graduate of the University of Nebraska and resides in New Jersey with her husband and two children.

CBS’s daytime talk show features a panel of well-known news and entertainment personalities who examine current events, pop culture, contemporary issues, family, celebrity and the trending topics of the day. The daily one-hour series is co-hosted by Julie Chen, Sara Gilbert, Sharon Osbourne, Sheryl Underwood and Aisha Tyler. The hosts swap stories, challenge each other on issues and engage the studio audience and viewers at home about events in the headlines and their own homes. Show segments include guest interviews with entertainers and newsmakers, musical performances, how-to demos and appearances from extraordinary people with stories that engage and inform. The show was developed by Gilbert, who also serves as executive producer.
