WCCO-TV TWIN CITIES NEWS ANCHOR AMELIA SANTANIELLO TO GUEST CO-HOST ON “THE TALK,” WEDNESDAY, OCT. 23

Amelia Santaniello To Join “The Talk” Co-Hosts Julie Chen, Sara Gilbert, Sharon Osbourne, Aisha Tyler and Sheryl Underwood

WCCO-TV Twin Cities news anchor Amelia Santaniello will return to network television’s fastest-growing daytime talk show, CBS’s THE TALK, as a guest co-host on Wednesday, Oct. 23 (2:00-3:00 PM, ET; 1:00-2:00 PM, PT/CT), joining co-hosts Julie Chen, Sara Gilbert, Sharon Osbourne, Aisha Tyler and Sheryl Underwood at the table.  This will be Santaniello’s third appearance as a guest co-host on THE TALK, having first appeared on June 27, 2012.   Throughout the week, news anchors from five CBS Owned Stations around the country will be in Los Angeles to serve as guest co-hosts.

During the week of Oct. 21, THE TALK will feature the following guest co-hosts:

Monday, Oct. 21: Ukee Washington, News Anchor, KYW-TV, Philadelphia

Tuesday, Oct. 22: Pat Harvey, News Anchor, KCBS-TV, Los Angeles

Wednesday, Oct. 23: Amelia Santaniello, News Anchor, WCCO-TV, Minneapolis 

Thursday, Oct. 24: Chris Wragge, NewsAnchor, WCBS-TV, New York

Friday, Oct. 25: Megan Glaros, Meteorologist, WBBM-TV, Chicago

 

Amelia Santaniello co-anchors WCCO-TV’s weekday 5:00, 6:00 and 10:00 PM newscasts. She joined WCCO-TV in 1996.  Ten years later, her husband, Frank Vascellaro, joined her as co-anchor. They are the first married couple to co-anchor newscasts in the Twin Cities.

Before coming to Minnesota, Santaniello anchored the weekend news at WTIC-TV in Hartford, Conn. She started her career in Washington, D.C., at WUSA-TV, where she was a reporter trainee. From there, she went to WETM-TV in Elmira, N.Y., where she anchored the weekend newscasts. Then she moved on to WNEP-TV in Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, Pa. as a reporter and anchor.  

Santaniello was born in Alexandria, Va. She grew up in a career military family and lived in Virginia, Japan and Texas. She attended Marywood University in Dunmore, Pa.

Amelia and Frank are deeply involved with the community and frequently serve as the emcees of charity events in the Twin Cities. They live in Minneapolis with their three children and puppy. 

CBS’s THE TALK, was recently nominated for five Daytime Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Talk Show-Entertainment. THE TALK features a panel of well-known news and entertainment personalities who examine current events, pop culture, contemporary issues, family, celebrity and the trending topics of the day. The daily one-hour series is co-hosted by Julie Chen, Sara Gilbert, Sharon Osbourne, Aisha Tyler and Sheryl Underwood. The hosts swap stories, challenge each other on issues and engage the studio audience and viewers at home about events in the headlines and their own homes. Show segments include guest interviews with entertainers and newsmakers, musical performances, how-to demos and appearances from extraordinary people with stories that engage and inform. The show was developed by Gilbert, who also serves as executive producer.
