WCBS-TV NEW YORK NEWS ANCHOR KRISTINE JOHNSON TO GUEST CO-HOST ON “THE TALK,” MONDAY, OCT. 20

Kristine Johnson To Join “The Talk” Hosts Julie Chen, Sara Gilbert, Sharon Osbourne

Los Angeles – WCBS-TV New York news anchor Kristine Johnson will guest co-host on THE TALK,  Monday, Oct. 20 (2:00-3:00 PM, ET), joining hosts Julie Chen, Sara Gilbert, Sharon Osbourne, Sheryl Underwood and Aisha Tyler at the table.  This will be Johnson’s third appearance as guest co-host, having first appeared on June 30, 2011.   Throughout the week, news anchors from five CBS Owned Stations around the country will be in Los Angeles to serve as guest co-hosts.

During the week of Oct. 20, THE TALK will feature the following:

Monday, Oct. 20: Kristine Johnson, News Anchor, WCBS-TV, New York 

Tuesday, Oct. 21: Irika Sargent, News Anchor, WFOR-TV, Miami

Wednesday, Oct. 22: Ukee Washington, News AnchorKYW-TV, Philadelphia

Thursday, Oct. 23: Erin Kennedy, News Anchor, WBBM-TV, Chicago

Friday, Oct. 24: Pat Harvey, News Anchor, KCBS-TV, Los Angeles

Kristine Johnson joined WCBS-TV in 2006 and anchors CBS 2 News at 5:00 PM and 11:00 PM weekdays along with Maurice DuBois.

Johnson has won numerous Emmy Awards for her role in covering breaking news events in the tri-state area. During her time at CBS 2 she has covered visits from various heads of state, political elections and moderated the 2013 NJ Governors Debate. She broadcast live during major snowstorms and in flood zones.  Also, she anchored extended live coverage during Superstorm Sandy, the Newtown, CT school massacre, the Boston Bombings and manhunt for the suspects.

Before joining WCBS-TV, Johnson worked at NBC News where she served as anchor for NBC News’ “Early Today,” alternating anchor for “Weekend Today” and daytime anchor for MSNBC.

Previously, Johnson served as weeknight news anchor and field reporter for WPRI/WNAC-TV in Providence, R.I.

Johnson is a graduate of the University of Nebraska and resides in New Jersey with her husband and two children.

CBS’s THE TALK, recently nominated for five Daytime Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Talk Show-Entertainment and Outstanding Talk Show Host, features a panel of well-known news and entertainment personalities who examine current events, pop culture, contemporary issues, family, celebrity and the trending topics of the day. The daily one-hour series is hosted by Julie Chen, Sara Gilbert, Sharon Osbourne, Aisha Tyler and Sheryl Underwood. The hosts swap stories, challenge each other on issues and engage the studio audience and viewers at home about events in the headlines and their own homes. Show segments include guest interviews with entertainers and newsmakers, musical performances, how-to demos and appearances from extraordinary people with stories that engage and inform. The show was developed by Gilbert, who also serves as executive producer.
