GAMESPOT LAUNCHES IPAD APP

First Gaming iPad App to Deliver HD Video Reviews in Addition to Fully Optimized iPad Content

SAN FRANCISCO - May 18, 2011 - GameSpot, the leading source for gaming information online and a property of CBS Interactive, today announced the launch of the GameSpot app for iPad, offering video reviews in high definition in addition to fully optimized iPad content.  The app delivers award-winning coverage from GameSpot, including previews and reviews of the hottest titles, breaking news, original video content, gameplay footage, trailers, interviews, photo galleries and more over Wifi and 3G networks.  The app is now available for free in the App Store.

 

The GameSpot app for iPad takes advantage of the iPad's responsive high-resolution multi-touch display to create an enhanced browsing and search experience. Users can quickly search for specific games by title, or browse reviews by genre, platform, release date, or score.  The app lets users bookmark games they already own as well as the games they want to learn more about.  In addition, users can preview screenshots of gameplay before they buy, and access walk-through videos to help guide them through the ins and outs of a game after they purchase.

 

The front door of the GameSpot app for iPad features upcoming and new releases, as well as a carousel with top featured games.  Users can browse through the most popular games, and with one tap on a game cover, quickly access all the reviews, videos, images and news for that game.
