GAMESPOT TO OFFER MORE THAN 80 HOURS OF VIDEO COVERAGE AT THE UPCOMING E3 2011
Coverage Will Include Live Streaming of Press Conference, User-Directed Cameramen on the Show Floor, Breaking News, Interviews with Icons and Celebrities, and More
SAN FRANCISCO ‒ May 31, 2011 - GameSpot (http://www.gamespot.com/), a leading source for gaming information online, announced today that it will offer more than 80 hours of video coverage at E3 2011, the world's premier trade show for the gaming industry, taking place June 6-9 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. GameSpot's coverage promises to be its most interactive and exciting yet, with the addition of a second roaming user-directed live cameraman, live streaming video of the Microsoft, EA, Ubisoft, Sony and Nintendo press conferences, continuous coverage of the latest game announcements, plus news and interviews with icons and celebrities live from the GameSpot stage (West Hall, Booth 5112).
The E3 Web site is now live on GameSpot.com (http://e3.gamespot.com/), featuring GameSpot editors' insights and predictions about the upcoming show. Coverage of this year's E3 will be more accessible than ever, with video streamed across the GameSpot Video Network, which includes YouTube and Ustream. Fans will also be able to embed live streaming footage directly onto Facebook, Twitter and personal blogs.
With a commitment to provide its viewers an authentic experience, GameSpot will also empower its audience to shape its video content. Capitalizing on the success of the user-directed cameraman last year, GameSpot will add a second cameraman that can be guided by the online audience. Last year, the cameraman generated more than 10,000 comments from fans as he covered the show floor many times over. Fans will again be able to email firstname.lastname@example.org to direct both cameramen toward the most popular destinations on the show floor.
"No one covers E3 like GameSpot," said Ricardo Torres, editor in chief, GameSpot. "The team's love for games drives us to find innovative ways to bring our readers to the show. This year we'll offer up an unprecedented 80 hours of live video, showcasing what matters most to gamers. We can't wait for people to see what we have cooking."
