RICHARD C. SUTTON NAMED GLOBAL HEAD OF SALES FOR CBS INTERACTIVE MUSIC GROUP
Richard C. Sutton has been named as the Global Head of Sales for CBS Interactive Music Group, it was announced today by David Goodman, president of the division. Sutton will oversee the worldwide sales efforts for a portfolio of properties that includes Last.fm, metrolyrics.com, MP3.com and Radio.com. The appointment is effective immediately.
“Having known Rich for more than 15 years I can personally attest to his exceptional understanding of digital sales and considerable passion for music,” said Goodman. “As the leader of our sales network that spans a diverse range of online and mobile properties both nationally and globally, Rich will work closely with his worldwide team to create high value, and performance driven programs for advertisers.”
Sutton joins CBS Interactive from WebMD, where he was Senior Vice President of Consumer Markets. He began his career at the website, which serves as one of the leading sources of health information on the Internet, in 2008, and was instrumental in broadening the company’s client base, closing advertising agreements with Lowe’s, Walmart and General Mills, among others.
Prior to WebMD, Sutton was Senior Vice President for Warner Bros. Entertainment, where for more than 14 years he was responsible for client marketing for Warner Bros. Online. He oversaw revenue production for one-of-a-kind syndicated web content, launched groundbreaking programs with Nintendo and Ford, and introduced the division to a number of European countries.
Sutton’s work with brands has been recognized by Ad Age, Forbes, AAAA, Ad Week and additional industry publications. He’s a published author (Best Practices in Branded Entertainment) for the ANA, as well as the recipient of numerous online and marketing awards.
