RENEE BUDIG NAMED CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER OF CBS INTERACTIVE
SAN FRANCISCO – Sept. 14, 2012 – Renee Budig has been appointed to the position of Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of CBS Interactive. Budig’s appointment was announced today by Jim Lanzone, President of CBS Interactive, and Joseph Ianniello, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of CBS Corporation.
Budig, who starts on Sept. 26, will oversee all financial operations of CBS Interactive and work with the executive team to continue building value in the division’s diverse portfolio of brands, including CBS.com, CBSSports.com, CNET, GameSpot, Last.fm and many others. In addition, Budig will partner with her peers throughout CBS Corporation on broader initiatives reaching the financial community.
“CBS Interactive is a critical pillar of our overall business strategy and the #1 online destination for premium content,” said Ianniello. “Renee’s background in creating compelling financial operations for established and emerging companies is impressive, and I look forward to her contributions as we build CBS Interactive stable of leading brands.”
“I couldn’t be more pleased to add Renee to our management team,” said Lanzone. “Renee has a combination of financial management and digital media experience that’s rare to find in a Silicon Valley executive, and she will be a key part of CBS Interactive’s continued growth strategy.”
Budig joins CBS Interactive from YouSendIt, where she served as Chief Financial Officer, overseeing the company’s finance, human resources, facilities and administrative functions. While at YouSendIt, she created a strong infrastructure that scaled to meet the company’s growing business demands and helped raise capital through equity and debt financings.
Prior to YouSendIt, Budig held multiple executive-level positions at Netflix, where she served as Vice President of Finance, as well as at VERITAS Software, where she served as a Vice President for Investor Relations and, later, a Vice President of Finance. She also served as the Vice President of Finance at Quantum Corporation, overseeing the company’s worldwide treasury initiatives and investor relations.
An accomplished executive with 25 years’ experience, Budig was recognized by the San Jose Business Journal as CFO of the Year for Venture-Backed Companies in 2011 and was also named to the esteemed list of Silicon Valley Women of Influence.
