“FACE THE NATION” IS UP +13% IN HOUSEHOLDS, +10% IN VIEWERS AND +20% IN ADULTS 25-54, COMPARED TO LAST YEAR
CBS News’ FACE THE NATION was first in adults 25-54 (tied with NBC) on Sunday, May 27. The CBS broadcast posted a 1.8/06 with 2.48m viewers and 0.6/03 in adults 25-54, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings. Editor’s note: FACE THE NATION’s second half-hour was broadcast contiguously across 64% of the CBS affiliates.
FACE THE NATION is the only Sunday morning public affairs program to post gains compared to the same week last year, up +13% in households (from 1.6/05), +10% in viewers (from 2.25m) and +20% in adults 25-54 (from 0.5/03).
Television year-to-date, FACE THE NATION is up +5% in households (2.1/06 from 2.0/05), +6% in viewers (2.97m from 2.81m) and +14% in adults 25-54 (0.8/03 from 0.7/03) and is first in adults 25-54 (tied with NBC).
On the broadcast, Bob Schieffer interviewed Robert Gibbs, senior adviser to the Obama campaign, Ed Gillespie, senior adviser to the Romney campaign, and Sen. Richard Lugar (R-Ind.). Schieffer also hosted a roundtable discussion on the presidency with authors Michael Duffy, Nancy Gibbs, Robert Merry and CBS News Consultant and presidential historian Douglas Brinkley.
