GEORGE OSBORNE, BRITAIN’S CHANCELLOR OF THE EXCHEQUER, WARNS THAT EUROPE WILL SOON FACE “A MOMENT OF RECKONING” IN ITS FISCAL CRISIS – TONIGHT ON THE “CBS EVENING NEWS WITH SCOTT PELLEY”

OSBORNE TELLS PELLEY: “THE WORST THING FOR THE WORLD WOULD BE A GREEK EXIT WITHOUT A PLAN TO DEAL WITH THE CONTAGION”

George Osborne, Britain’s Chancellor of the Exchequer, warns that Europe will soon face “a moment of reckoning” in its fiscal crisis. The interview will be broadcast tonight, June 15 on the CBS EVENING NEWS WITH SCOTT PELLEY (6:30-7:00 PM, ET) on the CBS Television Network.

PELLEY: How much time do they have?

OSBORNE: Well, I don’t think they have very long.

PELLEY: Weeks? Months?

OSBORNE: Well, I think you’re going to see over this summer a moment of reckoning. One thing is clear. The worst thing for the world would be a Greek exit without a plan to deal with the contagion, because that would be like letting Lehman Brothers go and not having a plan for the day after.
