CBS NEWS' "FACE THE NATION" IS THE #1 PUBLIC AFFAIRS SHOW ON SUNDAY, OCTOBER 17
"Face the Nation" Beats "Meet the Press" in Viewers for the First Time since Sept. 28, 2008
CBS Is Up Double Digits in Households, Viewers, Adults 25-54 and "Boomers," Year-to-Year
CBS News' FACE THE NATION was the #1 public affairs show, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for Sunday, Oct. 17. The CBS broadcast beat "Meet the Press" in both households and viewers. CBS posted a 1.9/05 with 2.61m viewers.
This is the first time FACE THE NATION was in first place alone against both "Meet the Press" and "This Week" since July 2, 2006 in households and since Sept. 28, 2008 in viewers.
Compared to the same day last year, FACE THE NATION was up +27% in households (from 1.5/04) and +17% in both viewers (from 2.23m) and "boomers" adults 35-54 (1.9/05 from 1.5/04); the show was up +20% in adults 25-54 (from 0.5/02).
On the broadcast, Bob Schieffer interviewed Howard Dean, Former Chairman, Democratic National Committee; Senator Lindsey Graham, R-South Carolina; Republican strategist Liz Cheney; and Bill Galston, Brookings Institution.
FACE THE NATION is broadcast Sundays (10:30-11:00 AM, ET / check local listings) on the CBS Television Network. Carin Pratt is the Executive Producer.
