Michael Weiss
President, Sales

Michael Weiss was named CBS RADIO’s President of Sales in October 2007. In this lead sales position for the division, Weiss oversees the sales management teams and digital sales strategy for CBS RADIO’s 126 stations, helping to drive revenue performance and accountability with advertisers.

 

Additionally, Weiss directs the Altitude Group, a team of local engagement experts tasked with helping Fortune 500 brands connect with consumers using CBS’s radio, television, digital and outdoor assets.  He also manages CBS RADIO’s national sales representation at Katz Radio Group.

 

Since his arrival, Weiss has installed Directors of Sales in each market where CBS RADIO operates to maximize resources across each cluster and engage with advertisers in new ways.  He has also created leadership positions in research and national sales, while establishing programs that cater to the specific needs of local and national advertisers.

 

Weiss joined CBS RADIO from Interep where he had worked since 1984.  When he left the Company, he was President of Sales for their CBS RADIO division which represented more than 100 stations in nearly 30 major markets, with sales offices in 11 cities.  From 1992-94, Weiss was Regional Executive of Interep’s Midwest office, overseeing Chicago, Minneapolis and St. Louis. Weiss joined the Company as an Account Executive and a year later was hired as the first employee of Interep’s Durpetti & Associates. In 1986, he was named Manager of Durpetti’s New York office.

 

Radio Ink magazine named Weiss to its list of Most Powerful People in Radio in 2012 and 2013.
