THIS JUST IN… …from CBS Sports Network

On this week’s INSIDE COLLEGE FOOTBALL on CBS Sports Network, Rich Rodriguez, Aaron Taylor, Brian Jones and Randy Cross discussed the rules on how much time football coaches can spend with their players.

Rodriguez shared his opinion and explained Michigan’s violation in 2009 when he was head coach:

“You can’t limit them to 20 hours. I know quite a bit about this subject. We got in trouble. It wasn’t for practice mind you, but stretch and warm up in the offseason, because it was 20 minutes over the hour limit. The NCAA says because the strength coaches were in the same room when the players were stretching, you have to count it as 20 minutes of practice. In the offseason; even in the summer. I was thinking, in the summer, it’s voluntary anyway. How can you have any hour limit when it’s voluntary?”
