CBS SPORTS NETWORK DROPS THE PUCK FOR TENTH SEASON OF COLLEGE HOCKEY PROGRAMMING

            CBS Sports Network returns to the ice for its 10th season of college hockey programming, including a slate of 18 games showcasing the nation’s top teams. The Network again features comprehensive Hockey East action, as well as CCHA and Atlantic Hockey contests.

            The puck drops on Thursday, Nov. 15 (7:30 PM, ET) as #10-ranked Notre Dame visits #3-ranked Michigan. Other match-ups include:

            Friday, Dec. 14:          #11-ranked Western Michigan at #3-ranked Michigan

            Friday, Jan. 25:          #14-ranked Ferris State at #10-ranked Notre Dame

            Friday, Feb. 8:           #3-ranked Michigan at #10-ranked Notre Dame

            Sunday, Feb. 24:        #1-ranked Boston College at Merrimack

            Friday, March 8:          #13-ranked Boston University at Northeastern

            Veteran analyst Dave Starman returns for his tenth year calling college hockey for the Network. Analyst Jim Paradise and play-by-play announcers Eric Frede and Ben Holden also return to call the action. Shireen Saski serves as rink-side reporter and intermission host.

            CBS Sports Network will celebrate its 10th season of college hockey coverage by unveiling the Top 10 College Hockey Players of the Last 10 Years, as voted on by fans. Beginning Thursday, Nov. 15, fans can vote by logging onto CBSSports.com’s EYE ON HOCKEY blog. Fans can also join the conversation throughout the season on Twitter by using the hashtag #CBSHockey. Also new this season, CBSSports.com will release a College Hockey Power 10 each week, ranking the top programs across the country, as well as a Hobey Baker Watch, following the top candidates to win college hockey’s most prestigious award.

            The Network will again feature a live pre-game show from the site of the game to preview the action and discuss college hockey news from around the country. Coverage throughout the season also will include excerpts from a round-table discussion with influential college hockey figures including Boston College Coach Jerry York, Boston Bruins General Manager Peter Chiarelli, Michigan State Coach Tom Anastos, NCAA Hockey Secretary-Rules Editor Steve Piotrowski, College Hockey Inc.’s Nate Ewell and Yale Assistant Coach Red Gendron. Adam Zucker and Starman host.
