CBS SPORTS CONCLUDES 2007 COLLEGE FOOTBALL SEASON WITH BRUT SUN BOWL AND KONICA MINOLTA GATOR BOWL

CBS Sports Presents Coverage of Sun Bowl for 40th Consecutive Year

 

CBS Sports' 2007 coverage of college football concludes New Year's Weekend with two bowl games.  On Monday, Dec. 31 (2:00-6:00 PM, ET), *No. 25-ranked South Florida faces Oregon in the 74th annual BRUT SUN BOWL, live on the CBS Television Network.  This marks the 40th consecutive year CBS Sports will broadcast the matchup from El Paso, Texas.

 

Play-by-play announcer Craig Bolerjack, along with analyst Steve Beuerlein handle the call for South Florida-Oregon from Sun Bowl Stadium. Sam Ryan reports. Steve Scheer produces and Mark Grant directs.

 

On New Year's Day, Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2008 (1:00-5:00 PM, ET), CBS Sports broadcasts the KONICA MINOLTA GATOR BOWL for the second consecutive year as *No. 25-ranked Texas Tech takes on *No. 20-ranked Virginia. The Gator Bowl is the sixth oldest college bowl game and was the first post-season bowl game to be televised nationally. CBS Sports broadcast the first-ever televised Gator Bowl on December 31, 1954.

 

CBS Sports' lead college football announce team of Verne Lundquist and Gary Danielson call the action for Texas Tech-Virginia from ALLTEL Stadium in Jacksonville, Fla. Tracy Wolfson serves as sideline reporter.  Craig Silver, CBS Sports' coordinating producer of college football, produces and Steve Milton directs the Network's coverage.
