CBS SPORTS BOWLS VIEWERS OVER WITH "BOWLING'S CLASH OF CHAMPIONS" ON SATURDAY AND SUNDAY, MAY 10 & 11

CBS SPORTS SPECTACULAR presents BOWLING'S CLASH OF CHAMPIONS on Saturday, May 10 (5:00-6:00 PM, ET; taped 5/5-9) and Sunday, May 11 (4:00-5:00 PM, ET; taped 5/5-9).  Over 100,000 people competed in U.S. Bowling Congress tournaments last year and 16 National Champions emerged to battle it out for BOWLING'S CLASH OF CHAMPIONS.  The first show airing on Saturday is a one-ball sudden-death format, set on four specially-installed lanes from the Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City, Mo.  The 16 participants, ranging in age from teenagers to seniors, are broken into four groups based on gender. All four players select their starting lane from highest to lowest seed, then throw one shot on the lane they selected. The player with the lowest pinfall is eliminated until one player remains from each group.  That player then advances to the semifinals, which is broadcast on the second show on Sunday.  The remaining two men and two women bowl each other at the same time in a traditional game of bowling with the winner of each advancing to the Championship match.  The final is a battle of the sexes competing for the $50,000 first prize. Featured players competing include 2007 USBC Masters Champion Sean Rash and 2007 USBC Queens Champion Kelly Kulick.  CBS Sports' Bill Macatee calls the play-by-play along with bowling great Nelson Burton, Jr. as analyst, and former NFL star and Hall of Famer Lynn Swann serves as sideline reporter.  CBS Sports' Steve Scheer serves as coordinating producer.

CBS SPORTS GOES FISHING WITH "TEXAS BASS CLASSIC" ON SUNDAY

CBS SPORTS SPECTACULAR goes fishing at the TOYOTA TEXAS BASS CLASSIC on Sunday, May 11 (5:00-6:00 PM, ET; taped 4/20).  This unique bass fishing tournament groups 104 professional anglers from around the world into teams of four that compete for the top five spots in the final.  The team format competition takes place over three days with the winning team taking home $750,000.  The event combines the conservation aspects of Lake Fork's slot limits with certified observers and on-the-water scales, allowing anglers to weigh fish normally not allowed on a slot-limit lake.  Live music and entertainment, as well as a variety of games and activities for the whole family are included.  Proceeds benefit the Texas Parks & Wildlife Department and its outdoor recreational programs.  Jeff Medders and Gary Klein call the action for CBS Sports.  CBS Sports' Bryan Lilley serves as coordinating producer.
