CBS SPORTS AND CBS COLLEGE SPORTS NETWORK TEAM UP FOR LIVE COVERAGE OF NCAA(R) DIVISION I MEN'S AND WOMEN'S OUTDOOR TRACK AND FIELD CHAMPIONSHIPS

CBS Sports and CBS College Sports Network team up for the third consecutive year to provide live coverage for the 2008 NCAA Division I Men's and Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championships with five hours on Friday, June 13 and Saturday, June 14, from Des Moines, Iowa.

 

            The event is highlighted by CBS Sports' live broadcast for the third consecutive year on Saturday, June 14 (4:00-6:00 PM, ET) when the 2008 men's and women's team champions are crowned.

 

            Saturday's coverage includes the Men's and Women's 100, 200 and 400 Meters finals. Florida State senior sprinter Walter Dix looks to help his team capture the championship for the third consecutive year. Also featured is the Men's and Women's Triple Jump final, the Men's and Women's Shot Put final and the Men's and Women's 4x400 Relay, all of which factor into the team standings.

 

            CBS College Sports broadcasts three hours of action on Friday, June 13 (8:00-11:00 PM, ET). This marks the third straight year and the third time in the event's 87-year history that the third day has been broadcast live.

 

CBS College Sports Network's broadcast is highlighted by the Men's and Women's 4x100 Relay finals, the Men's 110 Hurdles final, the Women's 100 hurdles final, the Men's and Women's 5000 Meters finals and the Men's and Women's 100.

 

            CBS Sports' Ian Eagle, 1976 NCAA Outdoor High Jump Champion Dwight Stones, 1983 and 1985 NCAA Outdoor Long Jump Champion Carol Lewis, and 1995 and 1996 NCAA Champion Ato Boldon call the action from Drake Stadium for both CBS Sports and CBS College Sports Network. CBS Sports' Craig Silver serves as producer for both broadcasts.
