¨ (On Alabama)

Spencer Tillman: If you see red on me, it's kool-aid.  I'm drinking everything Nick Saban is serving up right now, mainly because his guys have bought into the notion of the process of success.  Nick told me his guys have weeded out the detractors of what he was trying to accomplish.  This is his bunch right now...Last week, that first half was one of the most complete performances we've seen in college football on all three  phases of the game.

¨ (On Penn State)

Archie Manning: Potentially this is the best offense I've ever seen at Penn State.  I really think they are.

Tillman: They've got senior leadership across the board, a ton of them, only a couple underclassmen in starting capacities there. Penn State is the "IT" team now. 

 ¨ (On next week's Florida-LSU game)

Manning: Big game next week with LSU, I'm just wondering if they're going to run, let Tim Tebow be Tim Tebow. 

Tillman: I don't know if they're going to do it.  I think what happened is Dan Mullen, their offensive coordinator said before the season started they wanted to keep him to ten carries.  Last week it got up to 15 and they came away with the loss. They need to watch the pride factor on the offensive side and come prepared as much as they are on the defensive side. Urban Meyer has to bring his "A" game as a game planner.

¨ (On Florida)

Pollack: Urban Myer comes to the SEC, he has Chris Leak and Tim Tebow, and a new look offense the SEC is not used to. Now they are making adjustments, making other people besides Tim Tebow beat you. Let's be honest there are guys who can beat you.  It's the big plays, they are not great at getting drives, but the big plays are enormous.

¨ (On Ole Miss)

Jones: I like this football team. I think Houston Nutt is going to turn the team in to a winner. But they have too many turnovers. You can not have that if you expect to win in the SEC, you can not put the ball on the ground

¨ (On Alabama)

Pollack: You've heard of the Olympic sprinter Usain Bolt coming off the blocks fast.  That is what Alabama is doing. They have not given up a point in the first quarter. Their offensive line is so physical and also gets to the second level better than anybody in the nation.

¨ (On Vanderbilt)

Amsinger: What is the secret to Vanderbilt's start?

Pollack: Here is the secret, play bad defense, play bad offense and get a bunch of turnovers. Basically, that is what Vandy does. Last in the SEC in offense, last in the SEC in defense and they are living on the turnovers. If they do not get turnovers, they are not going to stay in all these ball games. They are undefeated because they're number one in the nation in turnovers, and they are continuing to do that. If they keep doing that they will stay in games. Otherwise, they will run into trouble.
