(On Alabama and Florida losing before the SEC Championship):

I do not see them stumbling. Everyone else says it's possible, they have tough games. I don't.  They are too close to the finish line now. It's always possible that you can lose a game and obviously it happened last year when basically LSU and Ohio State somewhat backed into the championship. I don't think so this year because both of those teams are too solid with a lot of different ways to win the game. They will both win their remaining games. I don't know anything about ratings, but it's my feeling that this will be the biggest college football game on CBS Sports in recent years.

(On Tim Tebow for Heisman):

If Texas Tech loses this week to Oklahoma, Tim Tebow is going to go front and center for the Heisman. He will have two high profile games, against Florida State and then against Alabama in the SEC Championship. If he wins both of those games, he can repeat.

(The 2008 SEC Season):

The rest of the conference is building towards next year and that is one of the things you have to do. You have to make your championship run when you have a chance to do it. Then you have to rebuild for that to happen again. I am not surprised about any of the teams this year. Georgia was the biggest disappointment in this conference, but if you really looked at their schedule it just seemed impossible for them to do it. Just too many weeks with too many times to get up and play those tough games.

I have said all year about LSU that their 21 guys were good enough. Everyone but their quarterback was good enough. Ryan Perrilloux getting kicked off the football team and released was just too much for LSU to overcome. In modern day football, you better have a quarterback that can win you a couple of games. I don't think it was the quarterback's fault. He is playing before he should be. He's only a freshman. In reality instead of winning you a couple of football games, he lost a couple for them.

(On Feel Good SEC Stories):

There are a couple of feel good stories in the SEC besides the top end of it. One is Vanderbilt and their chance to get into a bowl game. The conference is really happy about that. Number two is you are watching Bobby Petrino get the Arkansas team ready. They are going to make a major move next year and they are going to have a quarterback, Ryan Mallett, who is red shirting this year and will have a big impact on this league next year. The third is that Mississippi made a tremendous choice in hiring Houston Nutt. That has really worked for everyone and Ole Miss will be in a Bowl Game. They have made a move forward, nothing against their old coach, but they are really happy with what Houston brought to the table.
