CBS SPORTS SPECTACULAR FEATURES “JIM NANTZ REMEMBERS AUGUSTA: THE 1987 MASTERS®” ON SUNDAY, APRIL 8

CBS Sports will broadcast a CBS SPORTS SPECTACULAR special JIM NANTZ REMEMBERS AUGUSTA: THE 1987 MASTERS® on Sunday, April 8 (1:00-2:00 PM, ET) on the CBS Television Network.   Jim Nantz, this year covering his 27th Masters for CBS Sports, and 25th as host, revisits one of the most memorable and improbable finishes in Masters history when Augusta native Larry Mize chipped in for birdie from 140 feet away on the second hole of a sudden-death playoff against the world’s two best players, Greg Norman and Seve Ballesteros, in 1987.

“I will remember it as one of the most unexpected, thrilling finishes in major championship history,” said Nantz.  “I am so excited to go back and visit that special tournament on the 25-year anniversary.  As the viewers will see, Larry Mize is still emotional all these years later talking about winning the Masters in his hometown.”

The one-hour special includes a conversation with Mize as he joins Nantz on the 25th anniversary of his victory and looks back at all the drama and theatrics that led up to the “the shot heard ‘round the golf world” on that memorable Sunday afternoon in April 1987.

JIM NANTZ REMEMBERS AUGUSTA: THE 1987 MASTERS is produced and directed by Chris Svendsen.  The Executive Producer is Jim Nantz
