JENNIFER SABATELLE NAMED SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT, COMMUNICATIONS, CBS SPORTS

 

Jennifer Sabatelle has been promoted to Senior Vice President, Communications for CBS Sports, it was jointly announced today by Sean McManus, Chairman, CBS Sports and Gil Schwartz, Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Communications Officer, CBS Corporation. In this role, Sabatelle will continue to oversee all communications functions for CBS Sports and CBS Sports Network. The appointment is effective immediately.

Sabatelle most recently served as Vice President, Communications, CBS Sports, a position she was promoted to in 2010. During that time, she helped lead the overall communications efforts for CBS Corporation’s first-ever fully integrated Super Bowl, which featured 15 shows from nine CBS divisions leading up to the Network’s broadcast of Super Bowl XLVII.  Under Sabatelle’s guidance, CBS Sports and Turner Sports collaborated in 2011 on the most extensive and unprecedented media strategy for the new landmark 14-year partnership to broadcast the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championship through 2024. In addition, she helped institute all social media for CBS Sports and CBS Sports Network, working closely with CBS Interactive and executives, talent and production on education, promotion, branding and breaking news on all properties.

 

Previously, Sabatelle was Director, Communications, CBS Sports, a role which she held since 2007. In that position, she was responsible for all of the media relations efforts for CBS Sports’ college-related properties, including the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championship, the SEC ON CBS and regular-season basketball. In addition, she oversaw the media relations efforts for the CBS College Sports Network. Sabatelle also served as the liaison between CBS Sports and CBS’s affiliated television stations, as well as contributing to the publicity efforts for the Network’s coverage of the NFL, PGA TOUR, including the Masters® and PGA Championship. She joined the CBS Sports Communications Department in May 2002 as Senior Press Representative. She began working at CBS Sports in May 2000 as Coordinator of Programming and Marketing. In that role, she coordinated schedules and affiliate regionalization for the NFL and NCAA Tournament. Sabatelle came to CBS Sports from the NFL, where she was a broadcast assistant who served as a liaison between the League and its member clubs.
