CBS Sports’ Coverage of Super Bowl XLVII, NFL, College Football and NCAA Tournament with Turner Highlight Network’s Other Nominations

James Brown, Greg Gumbel, Gary Danielson and Marv Albert lead the list of CBS’s 18 nominations for the 2013 Sports Emmy Awards to be presented on May 6 in New York City.  Brown’s nomination is in the category in which he won in 2007, Outstanding Sports Personality – STUDIO HOST, for THE NFL TODAY and INSIDE THE NFL on Showtime; Gumbel also is nominated for Outstanding Sports Personality – STUDIO HOST for the NCAA Tournament; while Danielson earned a nomination for Outstanding Sports Personality – SPORTS EVENT ANALYST; and Albert garnered a nod for Outstanding Sports Personality – PLAY-BY-PLAY.

Other nominations for CBS Sports include multiple nods for its coverage of Super Bowl XLVII: THE SUPER BOWL TODAY for Outstanding Short Feature (Chuck Pagano: A Season of Family); Outstanding Open/Tease (We Will Rock You Remix); Outstanding Studio Design/Art Direction (CBS/CBS Sports Network).  THE NFL TODAY earned a nomination for Outstanding Post-Produced Graphic Design.  The SEC ON CBS was nominated for Outstanding Live Sports Series; College Football on CBS earned a nomination for Outstanding Music Composition/Direction/Lyrics (The Army-Navy Game); and the ROAD TO THE FINAL FOUR® with CBS/TNT/TBS/truTV earned a nomination for Outstanding Technical Studio Team.

Among other nominations include Showtime, in collaboration with CBS Sports and NFL Films, for Outstanding Sports Documentary (LT: Life and Times); as well as 60 MINUTES SPORTS, in collaboration with CBS News, for Outstanding Sports News Anthology, Outstanding Sports Journalism (The Fall of Lance Armstrong) and Outstanding Long Feature (Great Falls); and for Outstanding Edited Sports Event Coverage (All Access Mayweather vs. Canelo Epilogue) and Outstanding Music Composition/Direction/Lyrics (Against the Tide).
