DAN SABREEN NAMED VICE PRESIDENT, COMMUNICATIONS, CBS SPORTS

Dan Sabreen has been promoted to Vice President, Communications for CBS Sports, it was announced today by Jennifer Sabatelle, Senior Vice President, Communications, CBS Sports. In this role, Sabreen will continue working on the overall publicity and communications efforts for CBS Sports and CBS Sports Network.

His dedication, experience and creative thinking have distinguished him as a terrific communications executive,” said Sabatelle. “Dan has a keen knowledge and intuitive understating of our business as well as the ever-changing media landscape, and his performance has earned the respect of everyone within CBS, as well as our partners, announcers and sports media.”

Sabreen most recently served as Director, Communications, CBS Sports, a position he was promoted to in 2012.  He leads CBS Sports’ media relations efforts around its collegiate properties, including regular-season college basketball and the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championship, college football including the SEC ON CBS, as well as works on NFL ON CBS programming, focusing on THURSDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL. Sabreen also plays a key role in the communications efforts for CBS Sports Network, the 24-hour cable home of CBS Sports. In addition, Sabreen serves as a lead liaison on CBS Sports’ overall social media strategy.  

Sabreen joined CBS Sports Network (then CSTV) in 2005 as Manager, Sports Communications.  In that role, he was responsible for media relations efforts surrounding the company’s television and various digital properties, including all studio, remote and original programming, as well as all distribution and affiliate relations initiatives. 

Prior to CBS Sports, Sabreen worked in public relations at Washington, D.C.-based Sports America, Inc. for two years. While at Sports America, he oversaw all media relations strategy and execution for the company’s various events and properties, including the McDonald’s All-American Games, Jordan Brand Classic and Aflac All-American High School Baseball Classic. 

Sabreen graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a B.A. in Journalism and Mass Communications in 2002.  After college, he moved to Washington, D.C., and started his professional career with the public relations agency, Goodman Media International, Inc.
