CBS SPORTS SERVES UP 2013 U.S. OPEN TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIPS FOR 46th CONSECUTIVE YEAR

Women’s and Men’s Championships on Sunday and Monday Highlight CBS Sports’ Coverage

 

CBS Sports Network Provides Live U.S. Open Action Throughout Labor Day Weekend

 

CBS Sports presents the U.S. OPEN TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIPS, tennis’ final major of the year and the only one played in the United States, for the 46th consecutive year. Coverage begins on Saturday, Aug. 31 (11:00 AM–6:00 PM, ET) with men’s and women’s third-round action and concludes with the men’s singles championship on Monday, Sept. 9 (5:00 PM, ET). CBS Sports broadcasts over 36 hours of the 2013 U.S. Open live from the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows, N.Y. (#USOpen)

 

Lead play-by-play announcer Bill Macatee is joined by expert analysts Mary Carillo and John McEnroe in the booth. Jim Courier returns for his fifth year as analyst and calls the action alongside Ian Eagle. Mary Joe Fernandez serves as reporter, and Chris Wragge as a contributor.

 

CBS Sports will provide live comprehensive coverage during both weekends of the event, Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 2 (11:00 AM-6:00 PM, ET) and Friday, Sept. 6 (12:30-6:00 PM, ET).  The 2013 women’s and men’s championships highlight the Network’s live coverage with the women playing on Sunday, Sept. 8 (4:30 PM, ET) and the men on Monday, Sept. 9 (5:00 PM, ET).

Sunday, Sept. 8           4:30 PM, ET (women’s singles championship)       

Monday, Sept. 9         5:00 PM, ET (men’s singles championship)

 

For the second year, CBS Sports Network features US Open coverage with three days of live Labor Day weekend action showcasing the most compelling third and fourth-round matches not shown during CBS Sports’ live simultaneous broadcast (11:00 AM-6:00 PM, ET).  The Network also presents TODAY AT THE U.S. OPEN (10:00-11:00 AM, ET), a live studio show from the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows, N.Y. 

 

Brent Stover serves as studio host with analyst Justin Gimelstob, while Sam Gore, Andrew Catalon, Chanda Rubin and Taylor Dent call the action. Katrina Adams again serves as reporter.
