CBS SPORTS’ COUNTDOWN TO SUPER BOWL 50 BEGINS AS NETWORK ANNOUNCES 2015 NFL ON CBS BROADCAST SCHEDULE

       CBS TELEVISION NETWORK AND NFL NETWORK ALSO KICKS OFF SECOND YEAR OF PARTNERSHIP OF THURSDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL

 

The CBS Television Network, home of Super Bowl 50, marks its 56th year broadcasting the NFL headlined by Super Bowl 50 on February 7, 2016, as well as some of the most marquee games on the NFL schedule including New England-Dallas (10/11), Denver-Indianapolis (11/8), New England-N.Y. Giants (11/15), Pittsburgh-Seattle (11/29), N.Y. Jets-N.Y. Giants (12/6) and Denver-Pittsburgh (12/20), during its 17 weeks of regular-season coverage.

 

In addition to the AFC package, the 104 regular-season game broadcast schedule once again features NFC crossover games.  The regular-season schedule is followed by a post-season slate of AFC Playoff games, the AFC Championship game, as well as Super Bowl 50 from Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif.

 

This year also marks the second season of partnership between the CBS Television Network and NFL Network in broadcasting Thursday Night Football.  The 16-game Thursday Night Football schedule kicks off on September 17 with Denver-Kansas City from Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Mo.

In addition to the AFC package of games, THE NFL ON CBS’s broadcast schedule once again features NFC games highlighted by Carolina-Dallas (Thanksgiving Day, 11/26); Chicago-Seattle (9/27); St. Louis-Green Bay (10/11), as well as other NFC Crossover flex games to be determined later in the season.

Thanksgiving Day (11/26) will feature Carolina at Dallas in an NFC Crossover game.

 

► OPENING KICK-OFF

 

THE NFL ON CBS kicks off Week 1 with double-header coverage on Sunday, Sept. 13 (12:00 Noon-1:00 PM, ET) beginning with THE NFL TODAY.  Games that day include: Baltimore vs. Denver; Miami vs. Washington; Indianapolis vs. Buffalo; Cleveland vs. N.Y. Jets; Kansas City vs. Houston; Cincinnati vs. Oakland and Tennessee vs. Tampa Bay.

 

Jim Nantz and Phil Simms, along with Tracy Wolfson reporting, are the lead announce team for the Network’s coverage of THE NFL ON CBS on Thursday night, along with select games on Sunday.   THE NFL TODAY, CBS Sports’ NFL pre-game, halftime and post-game studio show, begins on Sunday, Sept. 13 (12:00 Noon-1:00 PM, ET) with host James Brown, along with analysts Boomer Esiason, Bill Cowher, Tony Gonzalez and Bart Scott.
