"THE NFL TODAY" ON CBS
As it begins its 14th year in its present one-hour format, and its 44th year overall, THE NFL TODAY, the CBS Television Network's National Football League pre-game studio show, is the prototype for all NFL studio shows that followed. In its previous format, a half-hour pre-game, halftime and post-game program, the show originated in the 1975 NFL season. The first show as THE NFL TODAY, a 15-minute regional broadcast, aired on September 13, 1964.
ON AIR: Sundays throughout the NFL season as well as Thanksgiving Day and a full post-season slate, including an AFC Wild Card Playoff game, two Divisional Playoff games, and the AFC Championship Game. Sunday broadcasts begin at 12:00 Noon, ET.
ORIGINATION: New York
FORMAT: The show is highlighted by news, interviews and feature reports from various National Football League cities.
