'AMERICA'S NEXT TOP MODEL' FRANCHISE EXPANDS TO MAINLAND CHINA

China's Global Village Media Group obtains format rights to

‘America's Next Top Model'

 

September 12, 2006, Hollywood, CA - CBS Paramount International Television has entered into an exclusive agreement with Global Village Media Group Worldwide, Ltd. (GVMGW) to produce and distribute the local version of AMERICA'S NEXT TOP MODEL in the People's Republic of China.  CHINA'S NEXT TOP MODEL (CNTM) was jointly announced today by Armando Nunez, President, CBS Paramount International Television and David Tumaroff, CEO, Global Village Media Group Worldwide

 

Mojo Mediaworks, the Chinese subsidiary of Global Village Media Group Worldwide, will handle the day-to day oversight of CHINA'S NEXT TOP MODEL which will be produced in Mandarin by Shanghai Ruth Media Company. Production on the series will be based in Shanghai, China.  The series is scheduled to premiere in primetime on Saturdays on Shanghai Media Group's Dragon TV next January.

 

In making the announcement, Armando Nunez commented, "We are excited to share THE NEXT TOP MODEL franchise with viewers in China as this exciting series continues to expand around the world.  With the addition of  CHINA'S NEXT TOP MODEL, there are now local versions in 13 countries including Australia, the United Kingdom and Canada."  

 

"AMERICA'S NEXT TOP MODEL has shown the world what it takes to be a Top Model from the U.S.  We look forward to being able to do the same in China as we explore the real-life drama as we search out CHINA'S NEXT TOP MODEL," said David Tumaroff, CEO of GVMGW and Mojo Mediaworks.

 

CHINA'S NEXT TOP MODEL will travel the participants outside of Mainland China as part of the series. Additionally, the search for potential models will be conducted in Hong Kong and Macau as well as the People's Republic of China.

 

AMERICA'S NEXT TOP MODEL is produced by 10 by 10 Entertainment in association with Bankable Productions will premiere its seventh cycle on Wednesday, September 20, 2006.  The series will now air on The CW in the U.S.  Executive Producers are Tyra Banks, Ken Mok and Anthony Dominici.  ANTM is licensed in over 110 countries.  AMERICA'S NEXT TOP MODEL and the AMERICA'S NEXT TOP MODEL format are sold internationally by CBS Paramount International Television. 

 

Global Village Media Group Worldwide, Ltd (GVMGW) recently merged with its wholly owned subsidiary to form Mojo Mediaworks Limited Worldwide. In China, a wholly owned foreign entity, Shanghai Mojo Mediaworks Consulting is engaged in the creation and production of television programming for Shanghai Media Group (SMG) and other broadcasters. Mojo Mediaworks works with the major media agencies to create branded content in the traditional broadcast and new media spaces for the explosive China markets.
