Scott Koondel
Senior Vice President of Corporate Licensing, CBS Corporation and President of Distribution, CBS Television Distribution

Scott Koondel is Senior Vice President, Corporate Licensing and Distribution for CBS Corporation and President of Distribution for CBS Television Distribution. 

In his dual role, Koondel oversees the distribution and licensing strategy for all CBS Corp. content across all platforms, including broadcast, cable, video on demand, electronic sell through, home video and digital media. He is charged with formulating long-term strategy to maximize revenue for all CBS content by negotiating and implementing deals as well as by advising leaders of the Company’s many business units. He also is responsible for obtaining format and distribution rights from various outside content providers.

At CTD, Koondel leads sales efforts for cable and digital media platforms for all current productions of CBS Television Studios, including Hawaii Five-0 and NCIS: Los Angeles; CBS News; and Showtime as well as a vast library of past series. 

Koondel also oversees sales of original programming to cable for the division and oversees sales-related functions in research, marketing and legal.

Previously, Koondel served as Executive Vice President, Off-Network, Cable and Interactive Media. Before the September 2006 merger of King World and CBS Paramount Domestic Television into CTD, Koondel had been Executive Vice President, Distribution, CBS Paramount Domestic Television, where he oversaw a national sales force for the division’s off-network and first-run syndicated programming, including hit series Entertainment Tonight, Judge Judy, Frasier, Medium and NCIS. Over the years, he played a key role in the integration of Viacom Productions, Spelling Entertainment, Worldvision and Rysher’s television assets into CBS Paramount Domestic Television.

Prior to CBS’s separation from Viacom in January 2006, Koondel oversaw distribution for all Paramount Pictures’ theatrical features and managed its library of more than 3,600 titles. He first joined Paramount in 1994 as Eastern Division Manager in New York.  He was promoted to Vice President of Off-Network Television Sales in 1997 and shortly after added First Run TV to his responsibilities. In 1999, he was named Senior Vice President and National Sales Manager. Previously, Koondel held executive positions in sales and marketing at Tribune Television, A&E Cable Networks and Cox Communications.

Koondel graduated from Syracuse University in 1985 and attended Cornell University as well. He resides in Brentwood, Calif., with his wife, Staci, daughter Stella and son Asher.
