ET EXCLUSIVE: MICHELLE OBAMA RESPONDS TO CRITICISM REGARDING HER HUSBAND'S HOLLYWOOD CONNECTIONS -
"This is going to be a close one, so we are going to welcome any and everyone who wants to step up and support the progress that we've made."
June 13, 2012 (Los Angeles, CA) -- First Lady Michelle Obama tells ENTERTAINMENT TONIGHT her feelings regarding the public backlash against her husband for utilizing his Hollywood connections to further his campaign efforts.
ON CRITICISM FOR HER HUSBAND'S HOLLYWOOD CONNECTIONS: "...We have millions of supporters from all walks of life and all I will say is that we welcome anyone. We have a big tent and we open the doors wide to make sure plenty of people can come in. Reaching out [is] one of the greatest things at the events that he does...finding a way to connect people with different backgrounds and different walks of life. That is what his presidency has been about. That's what this campaign is gonna be about. This is going to be a close one, so we are going to welcome any and everyone who wants to step up and support the progress that we've made."
ET sat down with the First Lady to discuss her book "American Grown," which tells the story of the garden on the South Lawn and highlights community gardens around the country and is available on stands now.
