INSIDE EDITION: THE CONGRESSMEN WHO DRIVE TAXPAYER FUNDED LUXURY CARS
-- AN I-SQUAD INVESTIGATION TO BE BROADCAST MAY 1 --
New York, NY – April 30th – About a 5th of the members of the U.S. House of Representatives lease vehicles paid for with taxpayer dollars. On the surface, it is an acceptable business practice -- particularly if it helps the Congressman get around his or her district to meet with constituents.
But when INSIDE EDITION’s Chief Investigative Correspondent Lisa Guerrero looked a little closer at some of their leases, she found that they ranged from the low-end ($258 a month) to the luxurious ($1,400 a month).
Guerrero confronted some of Congress’s biggest spenders to ask: Do they really need to lease a Lexus?
The I-Squad’s report on Congressmen and their luxury leases will be broadcast nationally on Tuesday, May 1 and in NYC on Wednesday, May 2 on Fox 5 at noon.
INSIDE EDITION is produced daily by Inside Edition Inc. and distributed by CBS Television Distribution.
