CBS TELEVISION STUDIOS TO SUPPLY 27 SHOWS FOR BROADCAST AND CABLE NETWORKS IN THE 2012-2013 SEASON
FIVE NEW SERIES PICKED UP FOR FALL; TWO FOR MIDSEASON
NEW SERIES INCLUDE “ELEMENTARY,” “VEGAS,” “MADE IN JERSEY” AND “FRIEND ME” FOR CBS AND “BEAUTY AND THE BEAST” AND “EMILY OWENS M.D.” FOR THE CW
May 17, 2012 – New York, New York – CBS Television Studios received orders for seven new series -- five for fall and two for midseason. In total, CBS Television Studios will produce 27 shows for broadcast and cable networks next season, including 18 returning series and two summer series.
The new fall series include: “Elementary,” starring Jonny Lee Miller and Lucy Liu; “Vegas,” starring Dennis Quaid and Michael Chiklis; “Made in Jersey,” (co-production with Sony) starring Janet Montgomery for CBS; “Beauty and the Beast,” starring Kristin Kreuk and Jay Ryan; “Emily Owens M.D.,” starring Mamie Gummer and “Cult” (co-production with Warner Bros.) midseason for The CW; and for midseason the CBS comedy “Friend Me,” starring Nicholas Braun and Christopher Mintz-Plasse.
CBS Television Studios is one of the industry’s leading suppliers of primetime network programming, with the #1 and #2 most-watched dramas on television; “NCIS” and “NCIS: Los Angeles.” The studio also produces seven of the top 10 drama series.
