In honor of her birthday, David Letterman’s mom, Dorothy, presents the “Top Ten Ways Dave’s Mom Is Celebrating Her Birthday” via satellite from her home in Indianapolis on the LATE SHOW with DAVID LETTERMAN, Friday, July 17.

 

            Before her presentation of the Top Ten List, Letterman asked his mother, who will turn 88 tomorrow (Saturday, July 18), “Give us a piece of insight here:  what have you learned in your lifetime that you think is universal and important?”  Dorothy replied, “I think it’s important just to take one day at a time and make the most of it.”  Letterman then joked, “That’s interesting because for a while, I would take it a week at a time and try to make very little of it.”

 

            Among the 10 items Dorothy presents include number 4: “Going to a ‘Fire David Letterman’ rally”; number 3:  “Spend day fishing with Sarah Palin”; and number 2:  “I’m gonna watch the kid that replaced Leno.”  The entire Top Ten List can be seen on the LATE SHOW tonight (11:35 PM-12:37 AM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

 

            Also featured on the Friday, July 17 LATE SHOW broadcast will be an interview with actor and comedian Tom Arnold and a performance by the music group Metric.
