Appoints GM's for Eastern and Western Zones

(New York, NY, 3/9/07) - Showtime Networks today announced it has reorganized its Affiliate Sales area and is naming two cable television veterans to run the network's Eastern and Western Zones.  The announcement was made by Tom Christie, Executive Vice President Showtime Affiliate Sales, to whom they will report.

Ken Kay, currently Vice-President, General Manager, Showtime Networks Direct-to-Home, is being promoted to Senior Vice President and General Manager for the Eastern Zone.  He will be responsible for accounts including Comcast, Time Warner, Cox, Cablevision, Media Com, Insight and Verizon.  Kay has been with Showtime Networks since 1989 and has been involved with negotiating affiliate agreements in a variety of distribution platforms including Cable, DBS, Telco, C-Band, Wireless and special markets. He has held sales management positions such as Account Manager, Director National Accounts, Director, Business Planning and Analysis at the network prior to his current spot.

Anne Droste is being named Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Western Zone.  She will be responsible for accounts including Direct TV, Echo Star, Charter, Suddenlink, NCTC, AT&T and Quest.  Droste brings extensive cable and satellite experience in Sales, Marketing and Affiliate Relations with organizations including Game Show Network, Meredith Broadcasting, PBS Kids, The Documentary Channel as well as a previous 5 year stint at Showtime Networks.

"As the ways for consumers to view our programming is constantly evolving, I wanted to put a senior management team in place that not only knows our business, but more importantly, understands our affiliate's business," said Christie.  "With Anne and Ken in place, I'm confident we will build on our strong affiliate relationships and partner with them in presenting the best premium television programming in the market."

In addition to working with the key accounts on the SHOWTIME line up of critically acclaimed original series such as "Dexter," "Weeds," "The L Word®" "Brotherhood" and the upcoming "The Tudors," Kay and Droste will lead their teams in launching two joint ventures; Smithsonian Networks, which will feature original documentaries, short-subject explorations, and innovative and groundbreaking programs highlighting America's historical, cultural and scientific heritage, and On Broadband, a turnkey, fully integrated, private label broadband game service for cable modem and DSL high speed access providers.

Kay will be based at Showtime Networks New York office and Droste will be based at the company's Los Angeles office.
