HIP-HOP MEGASTAR TEAMS UP WITH SHOWTIME FOR AN EXCLUSIVE CONCERT EVENT: "EMINEM LIVE FROM NEW YORK CITY*"

Premieres Saturday, December 3 At 9:00 PM (ET/PT)

LOS ANGELES (November 02, 2005) – Eminem, one of music’s top-selling artists, brings his raw and uncensored sold-out concert event exclusively to SHOWTIME for EMINEM LIVE FROM NEW YORK CITY*, premiering Saturday, December 3 at 9:00 PM (ET/PT).

The 75-minute performance was taped last August at the Madison Square Garden stop of last summer's blockbuster ANGER MANAGEMENT tour. The concert special features Eminem performing songs from his critically-acclaimed latest album “Encore,” as well as the smash hits that made him a star, including his Academy Award®-winning single “Lose Yourself.” The performance coincides with the Dec. 6 release of Eminem’s “best of/greatest hits” album, “Curtain Call.”

EMINEM LIVE FROM NEW YORK CITY is directed by Grammy®-nominated Hamish Hamilton, who has produced and directed specials for some of the biggest names in the music industry including Madonna, U2, Peter Gabriel, Norah Jones. Hamilton also directed the exclusive SHOWTIME hit event, ONE NIGHT ONE STAR: USHER LIVE, in March 2005.

Discovered by hip-hop mogul Dr. Dre, Eminem exploded onto the rap music scene in 1999 with his debut album “The Slim Shady LP,” which has sold nearly 5 million copies to date and won two Grammy® Awards. His explicit, brutally honest lyrics and mic skills quickly catapulted him to the top of the charts and made him a household name. His second and third albums, “The Marshall Mathers LP” and “The Eminem Show,” have sold close to 10 million copies each and produced a slew of hip-hop anthems such as “Stan” featuring Dido, “The Way I Am,” and “Without Me.”

Eminem’s troubled childhood growing up in a rough area of Detroit not only served to fuel his desire to rap and produce music, but also was the subject of his feature film debut in “8 Mile.” The soundtrack to “8 Mile” featured the multiple award-winning single “Lose Yourself” and Eminem became the first recording artist to have a No.1-ranked film, No. 1-ranked album and No. 1-ranked soundtrack best-sellers in the same year. “Encore,” released in November 2004, has sold 4.7 million albums in the U.S. and features the hits “Just Lose It” and “Toy Soldiers.”
