New York, NY, 10/23/06 - In an unprecedented scheduling move for any television network, Showtime Networks today announced that it will be showing all eight parts of its upcoming miniseries, “SLEEPER CELL: AMERICAN TERROR” on SHOWTIME On Demand the same day, December 10, that the miniseries premieres on the SHOWTIME network.
This groundbreaking scheduling strategy is an extension of Showtime Networks’ commitment to create the best On Demand experience for the consumer and acknowledges the increasing role that the On Demand platform plays in driving viewers and subscriber satisfaction with the SHOWTIME service. Whereas individual programs and films have premiered on On Demand in advance of a linear premiere, this marks the first time that an entire series or miniseries has aired on On Demand before it has been shown on the network. It is an idea especially well suited for the miniseries format.

Last season’s SLEEPER CELL was nominated for a Golden Globe® for “Best Miniseries,” an Emmy® for “Outstanding Miniseries” and was named one of the “Ten Best Television Programs of 2005” by the American Film Institute. SLEEPER CELL: AMERICAN TERROR gives viewers an expansive and authentic look at the war on terror that has defined our world since September 11, 2001.
In addition to the SHOWTIME On Demand airing of the complete mini series, the show will unfold over eight eventful hours beginning Sunday, December 10 at 9 PM ET/PT with a new installment every night through Sunday, December 17th on SHOWTIME.
