SHOWTIME® VETERAN TOM CHRISTIE PROMOTED TO PRESIDENT, DISTRIBUTION, BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT AND NETWORK OPERATIONS

NEW YORK, NY – (December 19, 2012) – Today, Showtime Networks Inc. (SNI) announced that Tom Christie has been promoted to the newly created role of President, Distribution, Business Development and Network Operations. The announcement was made today by Matthew C. Blank, Chairman and CEO, Showtime Networks Inc. A veteran executive who was served at the network for almost 25 years, Christie will continue to lead SNI's affiliate sales team, and in 2013 will add oversight of the planning and execution of future strategies and new business ventures, as well as broadcast operations. Under his guidance, SNI has grown subscribers by 80 percent in the past nine years to currently boast 22 million subscribers.

"Tom Christie is one of the great distribution executives in on our industry," said Blank. "The emergence of new technologies and new distributor platforms offers both great opportunities and challenges for our networks, as we continue to build upon our success for many years to come. I couldn’t be more pleased that we have so many talented individuals among us to help lead what has become a legacy of innovation and great success at Showtime."

With the retirement of long-time SNI Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, Jerry Scro, the company has realigned the structure of several business units. Showtime Networks' President of Entertainment, David Nevins, will now serve in the key role of liaison to CBS Corporation’s international and domestic distribution groups, generating incremental revenue streams for SNI-owned programming assets, which represents a significant portion of Showtime Networks' projected revenue growth for the next several years.

Christie previously served as Executive Vice President, Affiliate Sales since 2006, overseeing the sales and affiliate marketing team and maximizing the distribution of the Showtime Networks and its multiplex channels throughout the cable, wireless cable and direct-to-home satellite industries.  A veteran of the cable television industry, Christie previously served as Executive Vice President, Sales and Affiliate Marketing, for Sundance Channel and Vice President of National Accounts, Western Region for Showtime Networks.  Prior to that, he oversaw Showtime Network’s special markets department. Christie holds an A.B. from Princeton University and an M.B.A. from The Tuck School at Dartmouth College.

Showtime Networks Inc. (SNI), a wholly-owned subsidiary of CBS Corporation, owns and operates the premium television networks SHOWTIME®, THE MOVIE CHANNEL and FLIX®, as well as the multiplex channels SHOWTIME 2, SHOWTIME® SHOWCASE, SHOWTIME EXTREME®, SHOWTIME BEYOND®, SHOWTIME NEXT®, SHOWTIME WOMEN®, SHOWTIME FAMILY ZONE® and THE MOVIE CHANNEL XTRA. SNI also offers SHOWTIME HD, THE MOVIE CHANNEL HD, SHOWTIME ON DEMAND®, FLIX ON DEMAND® and THE MOVIE CHANNEL ON DEMAND, and the network's authentication service SHOWTIME ANYTIME®. SNI also manages Smithsonian Networks, a joint venture between SNI and the Smithsonian Institution, which offers Smithsonian Channel. All SNI feeds provide enhanced sound using Dolby Digital 5.1. SNI markets and distributes sports and entertainment events for exhibition to subscribers on a pay-per-view basis through SHOWTIME PPV®
