NEW YORK – February 22, 2019  – With 16 states filing a lawsuit against President Trump's national emergency declaration on the southern border, THE CIRCUS: INSIDE THE WILDEST POLITICAL SHOW ON EARTH crisscrosses the nation with a new episode, titled “States of Emergency,” on Sunday, February 24 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on SHOWTIME. Co-hosts John Heilemann, Alex Wagner and Mark McKinnon track the battle over a border wall while examining other emergencies facing the nation – including gun violence, opioids and climate change – that people across the political spectrum believe should get a spotlight. Meanwhile, the show follows the latest twists and turns of the legal threats facing the president.

After heading to the border, THE CIRCUS sits down in Texas with freshman Republican congressman Dan Crenshaw. The program also travels to a New Hampshire opioid treatment facility with Republican Governor Chris Sununu, talks climate change with former Vice President Al Gore and discusses gun violence with David Hogg, a survivor of the high school shooting in Parkland, Florida one year ago.

As Democrats in Congress introduce a resolution to block Trump’s national emergency declaration, THE CIRCUS goes behind the scenes with the ACLU as it heads to court over the Trump administration's immigration policies.
