NEW YORK – March 1, 2019 – In an episode titled “The Big Split,” airing Sunday, March 3 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on SHOWTIME, THE CIRCUS: INSIDE THE WILDEST POLITICAL SHOW ON EARTH explores a monumental week for Donald Trump’s presidency. As the President travels to Vietnam to meet with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, Trump's former personal attorney, Michael Cohen, testifies against him back home on Capitol Hill. Co-hosts John Heilemann, Alex Wagner and Mark McKinnon are joined by Vanity Fair reporter Emily Jane Fox to unpack the human and legal drama unfolding in the nation’s capital while the President is half a world away.

As Congress readies for Cohen’s appearance, THE CIRCUS goes behind the scenes of hearing preparation with Congresswoman Jackie Speier (D - California), who sits on two of the three committees hearing Cohen’s testimony this week. The program also talks with Congressman Matt Gaetz (R - Florida) in his office just moments after he sent a tweet, aimed at Cohen and his wife, which caused an uproar on the eve of the televised hearing. The episode also hears from Congressman Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) and other Republicans attending the CPAC conference, an annual gathering of conservatives. The show also sits down with House Intelligence Committee chairman Adam Schiff and former FBI acting director Andrew McCabe to discuss where the investigations into President Trump and his allies go from here.
