SIMON SPOTLIGHT AND CBS CONSUMER PRODUCTS TO RELEASE FIRST CHILDREN’S BOOK SERIES BASED ON POPULAR CSI TELEVISION FRANCHISE - CLUB CSI

NEW YORK — Simon Spotlight, an imprint of Simon & Schuster Children’s Publishing, will publish the first two books in its new CLUB CSI series in April 2012. Based on the popular CBS television series CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, this brand new middle-grade series of chapter books by Dave Lewman features a crew of junior high school investigators inspired by their forensic science class to form a “Club CSI” to solve crimes and capers at school.

The first books, Case of the Mystery Meat Loaf and Case of the Missing Moola, will be released simultaneously in hardcover and paperback. Author Dave Lewman has also penned additional titles for release later in the summer and beyond. Editorial Director Kara Sargent edits the series. The CLUB CSI series is licensed through an agreement with CBS Consumer Products.  

During the month of April, Simon & Schuster will partner with the team at CSI: The Experience, an exhibition at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, to promote the books and hold a launch event for the series. The interactive exhibit challenges guests to solve one of three crime scenes using 15 forensic lab stations complete with video messages. CSI: The Experience has also committed to promoting the CLUB CSI books for Nevada Reading Week, and author Dave Lewman will be on hand at the launch event to sign books and meet with local students and book enthusiasts. Lewman will also be participating in a live Facebook chat with fans after the first books’ release.
