Bakewise by Shirley O. Corriher (Scribner) is the 2009 James Beard Foundation Book Awards winner in the Baking and Dessert category.  The James Beard Foundation Awards is the nation's most prestigious recognition program honoring professionals in the food and beverage industries.  The awards were presented on Monday evening at a ceremony hosted by Cat Cora, Emeril Lagasse and Stanley Tucci in New York City.
