GALLERY BOOKS TO PUBLISH A NOVEL BY STAR JONES
NEW YORK, June 10, 2010 - Gallery Books, an imprint of Simon & Schuster, announced today that it will publish an untitled work of fiction from ultimate TV insider Star Jones.
The novel will follow the female hosts of The Lunch Club, a popular daytime talk show, as they learn that a former colleague-who departed under mysterious circumstances, and is privy to all their backstage secrets-- is coming back with a splash! It's up to a young, ambitious publicist to find out why, get all the details, and prevent a disaster of nightmarish (even cancellation-worthy!) proportions.
Star Jones said "As a huge fan of escapist reading - everything by Danielle Steel, Sex and the City, and any Devil Wears anything books - I've dreamed of writing a juicy novel for many years. Just like in the daytime talk show world, readers will love getting to know these characters and engaging in their lives. Over the course of the last 15 years in the television industry, I've met some of the most fascinating people, heard the most surprising situations, and have been privy to so many great stories and secrets. But while this novel will be dishy, it will be a work of fiction! A lady would never tell actual tales out of school!"
Jennifer Bergstrom, Vice President and Editor-in-Chief of Gallery Books, said " Star is truly one of television's most vivacious personalities. We are thrilled to welcome her to the Gallery family and are anxiously awaiting what is sure to be a deliciously dishy page turner."
Bergstrom acquired the novel in a deal with Nancy Yost, of Nancy Yost Literary Agency, which includes world rights. The book is scheduled for publication in Spring 2011.
